yup mail.google.com takes a lot of time to load, especially when you use dial up connection like me :(
so to get away for that time consuming process, i started to use gmail pop via outlook express, it saves a lot of time.
Sometimes i use another trick, that is changing my firefox user agent into a mobile phone wap browser, and if i try to access mail.google.com, they gave me the xhtml version so it's fast and simple :)
